Mark’s Mission – Tollers supports cycling initiative to raise vital funds.

As a leading regional Law Firm, giving back through volunteering, fundraising or providing support is very important to us.
Duncan Nicholson, the Firm’s CEO said “At Tollers we take our corporate responsibility very seriously and work hard to support the communities that we serve through our charitable work. As a Firm we believe in “Exceptional People, Exceptional Service and Exceptional Delivery” and working in Partnership to ensure better futures.”
With this in mind, when Tollers were invited to support Mark’s Mission the firm was delighted to get involved.
‘Mark’s Mission was set up by a group of close friends, Andrew Nicholson, Derek Middlemiss and Mark Monaghan following the devastating news that Mark had stage 4 Glioblastoma, a rare and incurable form of brain cancer.
The purpose of Mark’s Mission is to raise awareness of this terrible disease and the challenges individuals face when they receive their diagnosis, to bring brain cancer to the forefront of people’s minds and to raise vital funds for much needed research, with a view to eventually finding a cure.
The DADs Cycle Challenge
The team behind Mark’s Mission aim to raise money through a series of fundraising events. The first of which will take place in May 2025 and will see Andrew, Derek and Tollers CEO Duncan (the DADs) taking on the enormous task of cycling nearly 900 miles over eight days. An epic journey that will see them visit every premiership rugby ground starting at the home of Newcastle Falcons, Kingston Park and ending at the home of Northampton Saints, Cinch Stadium – the team Mark Supports.
The route then takes the ‘DADs’ to Sale in Manchester, then on to Gloucester, then to Bristol, then to Bath, then to Exeter, then to Twickenham (home of the Harlequins), then to Hendon (home of the Saracens), then to Leicester (home of the Tigers) and finally ending at the home of Northampton Saints, Cinch Stadium Franklins Gardens on the 17th May, hopefully in time for kick off and when the Saints play Saracens in their last home game of the season.
Duncan, who has known Mark for over 20 years and is a keen cyclist, commented further “Mark is a great friend to Andrew and Derek and it is devastating for him and his family that this terrible disease has afflicted him. At Tollers we have a track record of supporting worthy causes and Mark’s Mission absolutely fits that bill. The team want to raise awareness about brain tumours and raise as much as they can for the Brain Tumour Charity through this bike ride.”
This inaugural fundraising event is not only being supported by Tollers, but by several other businesses including, Leisure Lake Bikes who have generously provided the team with bikes, clothing, cycle shoes, Garmin route planners, Helmets, nutrition and all the equipment needed for this epic ride, Northampton Saints and The Northampton Saints Foundation, Moulton College, Shell UK and of course The Brain Tumour Charity, who are pioneering the way when it comes to ground-breaking research into this lesser known cancer
