The Spirit of Corby Awards 2024
Tollers are delighted to have recently sponsored ‘The Spirit of Corby Awards 2024’. As a firm, we are proud to support our local community and give back in whatever way we can.
The Spirit of Corby awards, organised by Corby Town Council, are a celebration of the people of Corby who go above and beyond to inspire and help with the local community, who are nominated and voted for by the public.
There are ten categories of nominees with the winners of each category being announced at the awards ceremony. There are also two further awards, which are decided by Town Councillors, the ‘Living Legend Spirit’ award and the ‘Special Spirit’ award. All of the nominees and winners have been recognised for all that they do for the Corby community.
The awards are highly regarded in the local community and to be nominated for an award is a great honour and achievement.
Tollers attended the award ceremony which took place on the 22nd November 2024 at the Best Western Hotel Corby. The ceremony showcased all of the amazing things that those in our local community have done. It was fantastic to celebrate those people and support the local community.
Tollers sponsored the prestigious ‘Special Spirit’ award. This is awarded to a business or person in Corby who has stood out for something ‘Special’. We are honoured to have had the opportunity to present the award to the winners, Corby Radio.
Corby Radio was founded by Des Barber and has been on air full-time for 15 years. They were chosen for the ‘Special Spirit’ award due to their service to the town. The station is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers an amazing service to Corby. Over the years they have provided fantastic entertainment as well as supporting local causes.
It is an important time for the station as they have applied and are waiting to find out whether they will receive a DAB licence and renewal of their FM licence. Also, their founder, Des Barber, is celebrating 50 years in local entertainment.
Tollers are thrilled to have presented the award to such a fantastic organisation and we are grateful for all they do for our community.
The Spirit of Corby awards is a wonderful event that we are delighted to be part of.
