Northampton

Tollers Solicitors have long been established in Northamptonshire and opened our first Northampton solicitors office in 1968.  The office was located in Hazelwood Road.

This move to the town coincided with Northampton being made a ‘New Town’ in the same year and a period of accelerated development through several initiatives including the formation of the Northampton Development Corporation (NDC) which was set up to substantially redevelop the town in partnership with the local council and build new housing and industrial estates.

As the Firm grew along with the town, by 1978 it became essential to move to larger premises as the firm began to expand the services it offered to the marketplace and so we relocated to 39-41 Bridge Street.

The next few years saw even more growth and the firm relocated to Castilian Street also known as Castilian Chambers in 1984, which would remain our home for the next 32 years.

Over that time the firm continued to grow and expand, investing in new specialisms to ensure that we could continue to offer excellent advice to our clients and ensure that as a firm we could continue to support all of our clients ever changing private and business legal requirements.

The firm continued to build its reputation as a leading legal firm in the Town – Toller, Hale and Collcutt continued to thrive under Michael Collcutt’s guidance until his retirement in 1993.  By the time Michael retired after 34 years of service to the firm, the firm that he had joined and worked to transform into a modern day practice had changed immeasurably.

In January 2004 the Firm changed its name once more and became simply ‘Tollers’ – the name we are known by today and in 2007 the firm became a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).

In July 2016 the firm moved to our current home at 1 Waterside Way and a new chapter for the firm began.

Northampton is one of the biggest Towns in the UK and since opening our first office we have seen the town double in size and the requirements for legal services has become even more important both for private individuals and businesses.
